The Apogee Electronics Symphony I/O Mk II 16 Thunderbolt Audio Interface features flagship A/D conversion, 16 mic preamps, modular I/O, and an intuitive touchscreen display. The installed Connect 16 MP module also gives you digital I/O including 16 AES/EBU outputs, four TOSLINK ports, and coaxial S/PDIF jacks.
The front-panel touchscreen offers convenient access to nearly every setting such as sample rate, clock source, headphone and speaker output levels, meters for all I/O, and section navigation, as well as input levels, digital I/O, and configuration settings.
The rear panel provides access to the two I/O module slots—one occupied by the Connect 16 MP and the other open for future expansion, while two Thunderbolt connectors ensure compatibility with macOS systems and common peripherals. Also included are wordclock I/O connectors for synchronizing external digital equipment and a quiet digitally controlled fan to keep everything running cool.
The Symphony I/O Mk II features an ultrahigh-fidelity DAC and headphone amplifier with Apogee’s Constant Current Drive technology, which dynamically compensates for any nonlinearities from connected headphones to provide massive power while maintaining extremely low distortion and linear frequency response.
Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture
Apogee’s Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture introduces a mic preamp circuit that is dynamically optimized at different gain settings to provide superior bandwidth, ultralow noise, and nonexistent distortion across an expansive gain range of 0 to 72 dB. Digitally controlled analog switches shift the gears of the circuit at each gain setting to ensure the best sound and performance.
Transparent Conversion
High-performance A/D conversion designed for extreme audio clarity and sonic transparency
