The Apogee Electronics Symphony I/O Mk II Connect Series Pro Tools Audio Interface with 8 Microphone Preamps and 8×8 Analog/Digital I/O brings high-performance A/D and D/A conversion, eight high-gain mic preamps, and eight channels of analog and digital I/O to your Pro Tools HD, HDX, or HD Native system. Its premium sonic performance, sample-accurate delay compensation, Mini-DigiLink connectivity, and BNC loop sync and wordclock I/O make it a solid choice for pro-level producers as well as engineers in broadcast, post-production, studio, and live stage applications.

By utilizing Apogee’s Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture, the interface delivers up to 72 dB of gain in 1 dB increments while maintaining ultralow noise, virtually nonexistent distortion, and noiseless gain adjustment. Its analog I/O includes eight channels of balanced inputs and outputs on DB25 connectors. Additional DB25, TOSLINK optical, and RCA coaxial jacks provide connectivity for AES/EBU, ADAT, and S/PDIF digital inputs and outputs. The Symphony I/O Mk II features an ultrahigh-fidelity DAC and headphone amplifier with Apogee’s Constant Current Drive technology, which dynamically compensates for nonlinearities in any connected headphones, to provide massive power while maintaining extremely low distortion and linear frequency response.

Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture

Apogee’s Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture introduces a mic preamp circuit that is dynamically optimized at different gain settings to provide superior bandwidth, ultralow noise, and nonexistent distortion across an expansive gain range of 0 to 72 dB. Digitally controlled analog switches shift the gears of the circuit at each gain setting to ensure the best sound and performance.

Transparent Conversion

The Connect Series module offers high-performance AD/DA conversion designed for extreme audio clarity and sonic transparency at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution.

Flexible I/O

  • Eight balanced analog inputs and outputs at up to 192 kHz via DB25 connectors
  • Eight microphone preamps with up to 72 dB of gain
  • Eight AES/EBU inputs and outputs (192 kHz single-wide compatible) via DB25 connector
  • TOSLINK optical inputs and outputs support ADAT, SMUX, and S/PDIF (8×8 ADAT at 44.1 or 48 kHz, 8×8 SMUX at 88.2 or 96 kHz, 2×2 S/PDIF at up to 96 kHz)
  • Coaxial input and output for 2×2 S/PDIF at up to 192 kHz

For Pro Tools HD, HDX, and Ultimate Systems

  • Preinstalled HD option card allows Mini-DigiLink connectivity to your Pro Tools HDX/Ultimate, HD Native, or Core/Accel system on Mac or Windows
  • Emulates Avid HD I/O
  • Ultralow-latency performance
  • Sample-accurate delay compensation
  • Stereo 1/4″ headphone jack features Apogee’s proprietary Constant Current Drive for smooth frequency response with any headphones
  • Supports multiple I/O cards (one slot loaded, one slot empty)
